Hello!

Hello and welcome to our very first blog post! We are going to be your new go-to spot for live updates and weather forecasts!

We are a group of four high school students scattered around the Golden Horseshoe with a shared love for Meteorology. So whether you’re planning a quick trip or gearing up for an extended vacation, our goal is to provide you with accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts.

Our Story

We’ve all met during a small CMOS event during 2023, we bonded over our love for weather and severe weather events and soon enough we’ve decided to form OrageWX, a small Instagram account dedicated to improving forecasting and keeping people up-to-date with the weather.

What to Expect

• Up-to-date Weather Forecasts: Never be caught off guard by the weather. Our forecasts ensure you’re always aware about upcoming conditions.
• Q&As and Tips: We plan on answering any questions people have, misconceptions, you name it! We also plan on giving some tips on beating the weather or staying prepared.

How Did We Create Our Name?

The name “OrageWX” came from both French and English, since we are Canadian, we decided to use the french word “orage” (a violent disturbance in the air causing wind, rain, thunder etc) combined with “wx”, which is an abbreviation of the word “Weather” in morse code!
